Over 100 years old. Spans the River Esk. Connects the more modern West side of Whitby with the original, historic East Whitby. On the hour and half past each hour at high tide the gates at each end are closed and the bridge swings open to allow the dredger, fishing boats, yachts etc. to move in or out of the Upper Harbour. Perfect photo opportunity.
