The Cottage is less than 30 minutes away from DuPont State Forest which is packed full of epic hikes, mountain biking and waterfalls. Some of our favorite hikes include High Falls and Triple Falls, Stone Mountain, and the Corn Shoals Falls area - Cedar Mountain is a great view! Make sure to type directions to your trailhead in before going because there are multiple parking lots and really weak cell service.

Be sure to check out DuPont Recreational Forest located South of Asheville towards Brevard. DuPont is one of my favorite places to spend the day. With five mountain lakes, 6 waterfalls and a scenic covered bridge, DuPont State Forest is a beautiful place to spend a day outside. The highlights are 4 major waterfalls, 2 of which were featured in the Hunger Games movie. After a day in the forest stop by The Hub for a draft beer and food truck.

Hike, mountain bike or horseback ride in this 10,000 acre state park located between Brevard and Hendersonville. The most popular hike is a three-mile roundtrip waterfall hike which takes you past Hooker, Triple and High Falls. For mountain top views, hike to the top of Cedar Rock or Stone Mountain. There are unlimited options, so check out it out one line. There is also a Visitor's Center.
