Just north of Bridgeport is Pilsen. Historically a Czech and then Mexican neighborhood, Pilsen is home to many of the areas greatest tortillerias (like El Milagro) and taquerias. It's a hot neighborhood these days and there are tons of restaurants, bars, and breweries. Make sure you walk around and check out all of the murals! My favorite eats: Birreria Reyes de Ocotlan Azul 18 (chilaquiles = breakfast of champions) Spoke & Bird (delicious bagels and other baked goods) La Providencia Grocery (food truck parks outside on weekends - homemade quesadillas - as in the tortillas are made to order!) Pleasant House (Savory British pies and great beer/cider) Casa Indigo (you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu) My favorite drinks: Cucumber margarita at La Vaca Punches at Punch House (also, if you go in the fall/winter, get the fondue!) Beers at Alulu Brewery (they always change)

The Historic Pilsen district of Chicago is home to some of Chicago's great record stores, music venues, and a variety of vintage shops in addition to numerous unique and award-winning restaurants. Vibrant community artists inhabit a series of studios and galleries in the Chicago Arts District on Pilsen’s east side. Rich in Latino culture, the area is filled with diverse bars, restaurants, and unique food establishments for all tastes. Easily explored on foot and near to the UIC campus, the Pilsen area is a quickly growing destination for Chicago visitors.

Pilsen is a prominent Mexican community. A beautiful community with a lot of culture. A lot of great Mexican restaurants and food.
Robust Mexican American community, home of National Museum of Mexican Art, many great restaurants. Spectacular murals throughout the community honoring the community's Mexican heritage. Historically, Chicago's port of entry for Chicago's many and diverse immigrant communities. Popular with artists, endangered by gentrification. close to, and just southwest of downtown.
