A ferry shuttles you over from Baddeck multiple times a day to see this beautiful spot. Hike around the entire island, or lounge on the beach and enjoy the sun.
This island is just nearby Baddeck. A small pontoon boat takes visitors for free across to Kidston Island from Baddeck, and it leaves from the large dock in Baddeck. Guests can also rent canoes at the beach nearby the dock and paddle to Kidston Island themselves.
A family favourite - Kidston Island Beach! Walk from Cottage on Queen to the wharf (5 mins) and take the foot ferry to Kidston Island. Enjoy the small beach run by the Lions Club of Baddeck. There are change houses, washrooms and life guards. The ferry ride is free of charge, but donations are welcome! You can also explore the Island by foot while there and see Beinn Breagh, Alexander Graham Bell's summer home in the distance.
