The Royal Oak stands at the side of the largest village green in England and the history of its site goes back to Roman times when it seems that there was a 'Temple of Bachus'. Mine host, Richard and his wife Vicky are the most hospitable hosts and the restaurant menu is highly recommended. At the rear of the pub is a good sized, well maintained field which accepts caravans and motor caravans. The facilities supplied are excellent.
