Agawa Pictograph Trail- .5k, moderate (south end of Lake Superior Provincial Park) When the lake water levels are high or if it is windy this spot may not be accessible
A must see! Incredible Anishnaabe Pictographs, and a beautiful short hike. An amazing introduction if visiting the park. This incredibly rare and well preserved ancient art is humbling to behold.
The pictographs are a must see, if just for the short hike from the parking lot to the rugged bay where the pictographs are. Most people will not see more than the first one or two due to the extreme hazard involved ( the lake is rarely calm here and whine there is a rope to hang onto, there are park signs warning of danger in attempting to see the pictographs far down the rock face. The trek to the pictographs is stunningly beautiful and you won’t be sorry you took the time to hike down to the bay. While you are there, hike the very short distance to Sinclair Cove, a beautiful Lake Superior busts and boat launch.
