Wat Phra Singh is a Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand. King Ananda Mahidol, the older brother of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, bestowed on it the status of Royal temple of the first grade in 1935
Opening Hours: 06.00-20.00 The temple was original built by King Phayu back in year 1345 to host the ashes of his lated father. The complex took today's name in year 1367 when Phra Singh Buddha statue was taken the permanent place there. The temple was then abandoned for a couple of centuries, during the Burmese rule . Its restoration finally completed in 1920s. The Real attraction of this temple is the smaller Lai Kam worship hall behind it. It is the great example of Lanna architecture,especially the signature roof design meant to represent a bird's wings. As with all Buddhist temples, it is required that you wear respectful clothing and please refrain from speaking in loud voices
