Lands End Trail

Why locals recommend it
If you’re a nature lover, or even if you’re not, this place is truly magical. Hiking on a trail above the water, you get to see the Golden Gate Bridge, where the Pacific Ocean flows into the Bay. The views are both breathtaking and romantic. With the wind blowing in your hair, holding hands throughout the hike, it’s very San Francisco. Set off on your hike early afternoon, and follow it up with a meal at the nearby Cliff House restaurant while the sun sets over the Pacific. The colors are amazing.

Tips from locals
Beautiful views of the coast and Golden Gate Bridge and easy hike. Pretty crowded on weekends.
An idyllic coastal hiking trail that offers expansive views of the Pacific Ocean and sneak peeks of the Golden Gate Bridge. This trail is just under 3.5 miles in length (one-way) if you are up for a small workout. Be sure to check out Sutro Baths and the Land's End Labyrinth while you're there. :)
Fantastic views on a brief hike. Best view of the Golden Gate Bridge in the city.
Land’s End is a very scenic area of San Francisco. I enjoy hiking from the lookout parking lot along the Lands End Trail to Eagles Point as well as hiking south along Ocean Beach into the west side of Golden Gate park. Along the Lands End Trail you can also get fabulous views of the Golden Gate Bridge.
