Not for the faint hearted, but great rewards at the top of the climb with the most magnificent views across the NW Coast
For fit walkers only, this wilderness walk takes you up onto the saddle between Mount Van Dyke and Mount Roland and then across to the summit of Mount Roland. Hard work is rewarded with beautiful views north to the Bass Strait and south to the Great Western Tiers, Cradle Mountain and Tasmania's Wilderness World Heritage Area. Return via the same route. Walk starts and finishes on O'Neills Road, Gowrie Park.

A beautiful walk with the most picturesque views from top of Mt Roland. Whilst on top of the Mt take a moment to see what Kate and Gustauv seen when on their honeymoon they left and then went later on to Cradle Mt you have just stepped into history.
There are 2 walking tracks up to the top.The Face track(via kings rd) this a is 3/5 hr return trek for experienced walkers( involves clambering and very steep sections!) or The Walk( via o'niels rd) a 4/6 hr return which involves a moderate incline walk with a slight scramble at the end.
