Tips from locals
These Waterfalls are very accessible, only a 20 minute drive from Cairns and a short walk from the car park. This is a gorgeous area and worth a visit.
An elevated rainforest walkway provides spectacular views of the waterfalls, especially during wet season when they are in full flow and very powerful. Lots of other walking trails both short and long, with fantastic rainforest views all around. Kuranda is a touristy village close by with lots of shops and cafes. Get there by self-drive car up the steep, winding roads, or alternatively catch the Kuranda Scenic Railway from Cairns Railway Station or the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway from Smithfield, both of which provide great views over the rainforest canopy. The waterfalls are an incredible sight, especially after a lot of rain.

Best viewed during the wet season (late November to late March), but beautiful all year round. This is an easy 10-minute walk from the car park and just 6kms outside town.
Magnificent in both wet and dry season! A short boardwalk to first and 15 min to second viewing platform.
