Proctor's Ledge is the actual Salem Witch memorial. It's the actual site of burial of the supposed "witches" during the Salem Witch Trials. The reason people don't know about this often or don't look into it is because it isn't situated in a flashy or touristy area of town, it's literally behind a Walgreens and isn't downtown at all. This location was only recently identified as the likely place where the innocent victims of the Witch Hysteria were hung. It is in a residential neighborhood behind a Walgreen's. If you enjoy walking, it is about a mile from downtown Salem. Walk via Essex Street and Federal Street to pass by many older homes on the way.
