Timber Point is a 1.4 mile out and back trail located near Biddeford, Maine that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from May until October. Absolutely beautiful! Flat, very nice ~6 mile bike ride along the ocean from Mermaid House to Timber Point. At low tide, a land bridge (sand bar) is exposed so you walk ~1 mile across the rocks & land to explore Timber Island. Non-bikers can drive to Timber Point and simply enjoy the walk. Stunning natural beauty - a MUST visit!

A wonderful walk (just under .8 miles one way) by a little beach and then along the Little River to the ocean’s edge where you have views of Goose Rocks Beach and the 13-acre Timber Island. You can cross the roughly 0.2-mile land bridge at low tide to reach the island. (Helpfully, there is a tide chart posted on the mainland point.) Once on the island, you can do a windblown 0.6-mile circumnavigation of its rocky shores. This is also a great place to launch a kayak or canoe to explore the estuary! Directions: There is limited parking. From Pool Street (Route 9), take Granite Point Road to the very end, about 1.5 miles. You’ll see a kiosk and room for about 10 cars.
