Tips from locals
Great quiet trails with wildlife and natural features. Perfect for walking with kids or pets or taking a jog. It is only a 10 minute walk north along the beach to get to the southern entrance. Just look for the bright yellow beach mile marker sign "34B."
Sitka Sedge state park if you prefer flat walks, Sitka Sedge offers over four miles of trails loops through forestland and marshland and leads to a quiet beach. This new state park is a great spot for bird watching. The beach is a wild bird sanctuary, dogs are allowed on the trails but not on some portions of the beach.
