Lovely local walk around the estuary, also known as The Daisy Hardwick walk. We love to take this walk ourselves, there are often people running, walking, biking etc around this lovely area.
Great run / walk / cycle all around the estuary; 8.7 km including wetland, bush and water views.
The 8.2km Waikereo Estuary Boardwalk is one of the most delightful walking and biking tracks in the Bay. The bird life is lovely. It is an easy, almost flat walk along a wide gravel path, sometimes under a canopy of trees othertimes out in the open.

Motuopae Island, in the middle of the estuary, is a sacred burial ground that belongs to Ngai Tamarawaho of Huria Pā (Judea).
