Situated along the Ice Age National Scenic Trail, the Chippewa Moraine State Recreation Area offers unspoiled beauty with kettle lakes and many glacial features. Hiking, snowshoeing, backpack camping, fishing and bird watching are popular activities.
We highly recommend a visit to the Chippewa Moraine State Recreation Area. You can visit the Dave Obey Visitor Center to learn about the fascinating geological history of the area, then hike the expansive trails. This is part of the famous Ice Age Trail network of northern Wisconsin.
Three self-guided trails beginning at the interpretive center for snowshoeing and hiking . Self guided trails will give you a look at kettle lakes, hummocks, and other glacial features.
