I love Gotyre Wharf it is just peaceful and beautiful, a great place to come for lunch or afternoon tea. The canal just curves it’s way around the hillsides with stunning scenery both sides of the canal path. We have cycled the 6 mile route from Pontypool to Goytre- it has to be the most beautiful stretch of canal I’ve ever seen . Also popular with walkers and of course the best day out has to be hiring a barge for the day.

Goytre Wharf is brimming with history and holds treasures for all to enjoy, from boating to fishing, cycling and woodland walks. For walking the foot paths that criss cross the 8 acre site of outstanding beauty, or to access the National Cycle routes from the adjacent canal tow path. Or you can just hire a canoe or boat by the hour, day or week.
Walk along the Monmouthshire to Brecon canal. Hire a narrowboat. Feed the ducks
