Built 25 years and picking up where the famous Lounge Axe left off, the Empty Bottle has grown from the chaotic new kid on the block, featuring "indy" music, to a dependable essential part of the music scene.
Bite Cafe’s hole-in-the-wall neighbor hosts some of the best alt music in the city.
They always have good, music and a big variety of indie acts and they support local artists as well (my band has played there). Pool table. Some seating at the bar and some tables and stairs to sit on for shows. Great vibes. Classic venue.
Don’t be fooled by its unassuming storefront: This is Chicago’s premier indie rock club, hosting cutting-edge bands from home and abroad. If you need to get away from the noise for a while, the club has a comfortable front room, complete with a pool table and pinball. The club mascot, Radley the cat, passed away years ago, but his scent perhaps lives on. Most local shows are free with RSVP, removing the financial risk from gambling on an unknown bill.
