Why locals recommend it
Green Park is always busy because it’s close to the big tourist sights, but there is plenty to see underground too. It was one of the Piccadilly line stations with glitzy tiling financed by American Charles Yerkes, and the remains of the original tile rings can still be seen here on the eastbound platform. A cool thing to see on the interchange corridor between the Piccadilly and Jubilee lines: The tiles subtly change colour between predominantly blue (for Piccadilly) to silver (for Jubilee). There are commuters who have walked it for years and never noticed, but when you do it’s amazing.
