Tips from locals
Go to trail hiking dot com. Look for Pierces Pass Blue gum forest to Perrys lookdown. Also try wild walks dot com and look for Perrys Lookdown to Lockley's Pylon. Explore these websites and observe all local warnings and guidelines. Do not attempt unless you are physically able and experienced. If I only want a day walk I time my walk 'in' to estimate the time it will take me to walk out. If I don't have time to get to destination before the sun is going to set I just try again another day. Remember, the sun will set earlier for you if you are walking in a deep valley. This is not an exhaustive list or guide. Many inexperienced walkers get lost and fall down cliffs on a regular basis. When you see a helicopter flying in the mountains or hovering it is because they are performing a rescue, or searching. You will get alerts on your phones when this is happening. DO NOT attempt a walk beyond your capability and DO NOT do a walk without due diligence and research prior.
