Point Cook, adjoining the Point Cooke Marine Sanctuary, features abundant birdlife, a historic bluestone homestead and intertidal sandbanks. It is popular with birdwatchers, nature lovers and family groups. At nearby Cheetham Wetlands, see migratory waterbirds and enjoy the views from the Tower. The Point Cooke Marine Sanctuary remains the largest Marine Park or sanctuary in Victoria and protects an astounding array of native sea life. With sandy beaches, colourful reefs and rocky mud flats, the marine sanctuary is home to and visited by carpets of coral, sponges, small sharks, anemones, jellyfish and occasionally bottlenose dolphins. A perfect spot for SCUBA diving and snorkelling, divers and snorkelers can enjoy the variety of fish populating the park or explore the two heritage-listed shipwrecks in the park - the Henrietta and the Diane.
