Tips from locals
Opened in 1877, this canalside warehouse provided education, clothing and meals for more than a thousand “ragged” children in Mile End for over thirty years. Now it's a museum on those harsh times
This is the first school built for poor children in East London in Victorian times. The visit will give you the feeling of what it was like going to school in that period.
