Beautiful old University with a Swamp in the center of the properties. The Swamp has local Foliage, Spanish moss and Alligators.
If you visit the university (to go to the art museum, for instance, or the Cajun and Creole archives), visit the swamp outside the student union - a real swamp with Spanish moss and turtles.
The ULL Quadrangle! Ok, this isn't exactly a park, but it's a great place to walk rain or shine under the arched brick walkways. Just head south on Dunreath, left on Calder St 3 blocks and cross Johnston Street and go through the parking lot straight ahead to the left to get to the Quadrangle. 2.5 laps equals one mile.
We call it UL. Home of the Ragin' Cajuns. There is the only campus swamp in the U.S. The campus features hundred year old Oak Trees. There are many grassy areas to enjoy. It is the second largest university in Louisiana. Fans can be heard cheering Geaux Cajuns® (and yes, it is a federally registered trademark). You can hear the marching band practicing during the Fall semester, which is really neat.
