Tips from locals
Grab a $5 permit from the Florida Museum of Natural History and go to the stream bed at the park to dig up sharks teeth and dugong (ancient ancestor of the manatee) fossils. Good park for walks.
Located in the heart of Gainesville. A scenic 1.5 mile loop that winds alongside Hogtown Creek. Check out the overlook to see where the clear water of Glenn Springs mixes with the tannic water of Hogtown Creek. Pack a sandwich & park nearby at the Elks Lodge.
