Why locals recommend it
It’s a big, clean, and bright open space with light-colored wooden tables and counters. There’s a lot of white marble, too—it almost feels like an Apple Store. They have an espresso machine repair shop, so you can look in there and see different types of machines and watch them go through all the different stages of assembling them. Get the Yemeni coffee pour-over from Port of Mokha—it’s one of the top coffees in the world. The fragrance alone will make you a believer even before you taste it.

Tips from locals
If you are from a big city you are already familiar with Blue Bottle coffee. It is originally from Oakland
Want pour over coffee that will spoil you forever? This is the coffee fans' spot. They have various locations in Oakland. This one is on Piedmont Ave., a neighborhood that is chockablock with locals and shopping options. This location has 3 outdoor dining tables, too. Also have espresso drinks, of course. My favorite Blue Bottle is the one on Broadway in Oakland - the Morse building. Kind of an historic building they restored. (But no outdoor tables). A plus during COVID, they are the only Blue Bottle still serving their wonderful egg breakfast with two oh so perfectly poached eggs on toast.

Swing by to this Blue Bottle location to check out the WC Morse building. It’s so beautiful!! I recommend the Everything Croissant, which is made by a local company, Midwife & the Baker.
