Tallest mountain in Massachusetts. Well-maintained road to top, half hour drive. Bascom Lodge at top is a good site for food, comfy chairs, window views. Lots of hiking trails.
Highest elevation in MA, many hiking trails, drives and observation tower. Views are amazing!
Highest point in Massachusetts. Both day hikes and weekend hikes, including a stretch of the Appalachian Trail. Drive to the top for a spectacular view.
Mt. Greylock is the highest peak in Massachusetts! From the top, you can look into 5 states: Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, New York, & Massachusetts (of course). You can drive all the way to the summit from Lanesborough. There's also many hiking trails with many different access points. Worth seeing on a sunny, clear day.
This is the largest mountain in Massachusetts and the only taiga-boreal forest in the state. The elevation is 3,489 feet tall. There is a visitor's center at the bottom of the mountain. It takes about three hours to hike to the top. Visitors can also drive to the top of the mountain where they can see the Massachusetts Veterans War Memorial Tower. There is also a spectacular view of several states which include Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. We like to have lunch at Bascom Lodge which is located at the top of Mount Greylock.
