Inaugurated in 1969, named in honor of one of the most renowned poets. It was one of the few major buildings that survive the Managua earthquake in 1972.
The national theater, where many events are held such as plays, musicals, dance troupes, etc. a nice evening out!
One of the biggest theater of Latin America, is the Teatro Nacional Ruben Darío. Every week there is any performance of classical orchestra, traditional ballets, and drama.
Not visited by folks from abroad, this theatre has some fun stuff on offer at really great prices. Nicaragua's arts scene is somewhat missing, courtesy of war and poverty, and this iconic theatre really is the building block for the future, and so it's great to get behind them...
