Tips from locals
Most of my guidebook entries mention amazing views but the views here are simply breath-taking. There is a small car park at the end of a very uneven unmade track - those driving cars with low suspension may prefer to park at the top of the track and walk down.
Not far from Bishops Castle is one e of our favourite places Mitchell Fold .It is actuallyJust over the border in Wales. ..a very special place.
The focus of many local legends, Mitchell's Fold is a Bronze Age stone circle set in dramatic moorland on Stapeley Hill. It once consisted of some 30 stones, 15 of which are still visible. Address: Priest Weston, Montgomery, Shropshire, SY15 6DE
