Built in 1904 as a YMCA, ArtsPlace is a unique Beaux Arts building with a long history as a community gathering spot. In 1979, renovations converted the building into an arts center. ArtsPlace offers studio, rehearsal and performance space; administrative offices for non-profit arts organizations; and a gallery featuring local and regional artists. ArtsPlace tenants include the Bluegrass Printmakers Cooperative, the Center for Old Music in the New World, the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestras, Citizens CREATE!, the Lexington Ballet Company, The Lexington Chamber Chorale and the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra.
