This is a free mining museum that is open June through end of October. Visit the Nederland Mining Museum and get a glimpse into the world of hard rock mining days in Boulder County during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Learn about the lives of the miners of yesteryear.

The Mining Museum is open Friday-Sunday 11am-5pm, June-Oct. and is free to the public, totally worth a visit. Knowledgable staff who know their history and great play area for kids with pioneer dress up, and water play space.

A great little museum with very friendly staff, who show great enthusiasm for mining history in the area. There are also some interesting exhibits and a lot of them can be explored in person or demonstrated. The gold panning was great fun and very addictive for adults and children alike. It's very exciting to see tiny flakes as a reward for your efforts.
