Tips from locals
About 25 minutes to the east of us, El Hippie swimming hole is deep enough for high-diving and a generally cool place to hang on hot days. River currents are sometimes strong so care should be taken with children and new swimmers. Often draws a younger crowd of local and international tourists so expect music and ganja smoke on busy days. Parking can be tight, especially on weekends. Always better for swimming on clear days with little or no chance of rain, as flash floods are a possibility with all El Yunque rivers.

This is a great river to visit! If you don’t like hiking this spot is perfect for you. From the car to the falls is around 5 minutes walking.
Difficult to find but worth the effort! Huge river with 40' boulders that daring locals jump off from into water pool. Pack a picnic and spend the day hanging out in the river. *Caution: prone to flash flooding
