There are the Basilica of San Marco and its bell tower ("el Paròn" the landlord in dialect), the Clock Tower and the Palazzo Ducale. It is composed of three sectors: the Piazza proper (the area in front of the Basilica and enclosed by the Procuratie), Piazzetta San Marco (the monumental access to the area of St. Mark's for those coming from the sea, which overlooks the Doge's Palace and the Library), and Piazzetta dei Leoncini (next to the Basilica, it is so called because of the two statues of crouching lions). 170 meters long, there are the Basilica of San Marco, the Bell Tower ("el Paròn", the owner in Venetian dialect) and the Clock.
