Tips from locals
Walk, ride, skate, or run across the Historic Lift Bridge. Now a part of the Lift Bridge Loop Trail connecting Minnesota to Wisconsin. The bridge has been restored and is a must see in Stillwater.
The lift bridge is the iconic symbol of Stillwater and the town's pride and joy. Built in 1931, it is a rare standing example of this particular kind of lift bridge. It was recently restored to it's original green color and converted to pedestrian-only traffic. Hop on the Loop bike trail here or walk across on foot. The bridge does operate throughout the day to allow boat traffic through.
