If you have little ones this is a nice place for them to see all of the aquatic animals of Lake Superior.
The Great Lakes Aquarium opened in 2000 and is located on the Duluth waterfront. A freshwater aquarium, its mission is to inspire people to explore their connection to Lake Superior and waters of the world.

I am not adding this as a recommendation, it is to give you more details. To me, it is not the best aquarium that I have ever seen, and like most aquariums, is a bit expensive to visit. If you would like to see some of the types of fish that live in the lake, along with some River Otters, you will enjoy this aquarium. It is a lovely building and there are some kids activities. They also often have special exhibits available.
