Why locals recommend it
This is actually the oldest oyster company in California, they’ve been around since 1911. They’re a major supplier, and do a little bit of retail here on site at the farm. It has a rich history and a great vibe, great juju. It’s always been a big melting pot of people of all ages and cultures. They have wet storage, which is like a big fish tank that holds all the oysters that were recently harvested, and they come out of the water the moment you buy them. They have limited seating where you can sit and shuck them yourself. They also have limited hours, so be sure to call in advance to make sure they’re open.

Tips from locals
My go to place for fresh oysters, clams and mussels are available too. Bring a cooler with your favorite hot sauce and lemons. They will provide ice. Drive a mile south down highway 1 to Middleton park and have a picnic on the beach.
Love Love Love these oysters. There are several restaurants offering oysters and they are all comparable. They are pricey but you will remember these in future years whenever you see a oyster!
Pack a picnic and don't forget the charcoal. Here, you can buy a sack of oysters and shuck 'n suck your way to happiness. More low-key and less expensive than Hog Island Oyster 10 miles north.
