Tips from locals
Betty's Tearoom in Harrogate is well worth a visit, offering its famous afternoon tea and wonderful bread, cakes, tea and coffee in the shop
Book ahead of time, and even then, prepare for a short queue. Take home some Fat Rascals for your friends
The 'world famous?' Bettys, home of Yorkshire Tea and Taylors of Harrogate. Self-service continental dining on the main floor with table service downstairs, all staff are dressed in period clothes and the cakes are to die for (you must have a fat rascal and a fondant fancy!)
It's the 'World Renowned' Betty's! The original tea shop. I've been in Thailand and people have asked me if I've been to Betty's when I tell them where I'm from. It's always busy with a queue, it's not cheap but it's worth every penny.
