Tips from locals
If the summer sun gets too hot then you can always plunge underground into one of Languedoc's vast limestone caverns. This is one of the largest and offers short tours or a five-hour excursion.
A huge hill with a cathedral sized interior. A dramatic and exciting place to bring the family.
One of the good caves around here with excellent stalagmites and stalactites - this one with an enormous gallery and a viewing bridge. Well worth a visit.
Great photo opportunities here, breathtaking drop down into the gouffre from the glass surface above . If you like the idea of pot holing you can take a guided walk down the gouffre and along the tunnel. Historically it has been a hideout, wine cellar, probable home to our ancestors and if you love geology there are great rock formations, stalactites and stalagmites. Not far from here is another grotte called Grotte de Limousis which is also worth a visit
