Tips from locals
About an hour away(over the mountain so the drive is gorgeous) but well worth the drive. An abundance of little specialty shops including an amazing toy store & a cannery! Antiques, home wares, furniture, and a bulk food general store. They even have a restaurant with the best ice cream and mango sorbet.
The Shenandoah Heritage Market is a nice way to spend a couple of hours taking in all the various shops. There are 9 shops and a restaurant inside with items such as toys, kitchen, antiques, art, grocery items, history and the Civil War, as well as a country store. Outside they have a produce area, sell kettle corn and have an outdoor furniture builder.
