Just a short walk (20mins) from The Clock House, The Grove Ferry Inn offers a great breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. It has a great atmosphere, live entertainment and event evenings such as salsa nights etc. Paddle boarding, canoeing, boat hire and river (seasonal). They also host events such as Salsa dancing classes, live music all can be found telephone: 01227 860302 or on their website www.groveferryinn.co.uk

On the edge of Stodmarsh nature reserve. Drop in for lunch or a coffee with views over the river.
This pub has a fantastic pub garden that backs onto the river. It is very pretty and with a varied menu. I would recommend booking a table, as the garden can get quite busy. It is a 40 minute walk over the fields, or a 10 minute drive away from The Barn.
For a lovely meal and perhaps a ride down the River Stour and back, head to Grove Ferry. Lovely pub garden and scenery makes this one of our favourites. A short drive away or can be cycled too. As you leave Broomfield head to Heart in Hand lane and then turn first left heading Hightstead Road, heading towards Boyden Gate and Chislet for a beautiful scenic countryside route.
