The University of Mississippi Museum and it's two Historic Houses are known for their objects of regional interests. There are collections of Southern Folk Art, Greek and Roman Antiquities, 19th century scientific instruments and and American Fine Art.
If you are in town In April, make sure and check the calendar for the Double Decker Art Festival in Oxford with great artists, live music, and tons of fun.
The museum features work from Ole Miss graduates and Mississippi natives. The curators keep a good rotation of traveling exhibits as well. You won't be disappointed.
Bailey’s Woods Trail begins behind the Museum. It links Rowan Oak, William Faulkner’s historic home, to the University Museum. Stretching approximately 3,000 feet, the trail takes about 20 minutes to walk. Bailey’s Woods is a heavily wooded area that William Faulkner was known to walk through.
