Old railway line, great for walking with young kids on the flat. It gives you an excuse to stop of and walk around the beautiful privately owned estate village of Tissington and stop off in the tearooms for a coffee.
The Tissington Trail is a disused railway line which runs between Ashbourne & Parsley Hay, about 13 miles away. You can walk or cycle and is accessible for buggy’s & wheelchairs. You can hire bikes (including kids bikes, pull alongs & trailers) at the start. There’s plenty of places to buy a snack along the way, and at the 5 mile point there’s the beautiful estate village of Tissington, where you can refuel at ‘Herberts Fine English Tearooms!’ www.peakdistrict.gov.uk
