Tips from locals
"GION" The bricked streets are lined with old wooden houses to give a traditional feel to the neighbourhood. We were there at night and it looked like if the red lanterns are lit the the shop is open. Nice place to wander. This is also a place where you can catch a glimpse of the ever evasive geisha.
One of the most famous and popular area as well as a street where you can fine Japanese culture on every corner that you walk by.
15-20 min by bus from here. You can get a lot of traditional feeling. You can buy a lot of traditional of Kyoto things. If you have luck, you can see the Maiko or Geiko!!
