C’est au tout début du 19e siècle (1801) que commence l’histoire du Crocodile. L’Eglise met en vente cette propriété dont il se murmure qu’elle abritait un couvent. Un des soldats de Napoléon, le Capitaine Ackermann, tout juste rentré de la campagne d’Egypte, s’en porte acquéreur.
