This is about a mile hike down to the bay where a steam meets the ocean. Stunning! Park along the side of the road. About 6 miles north of Hilo

Beautiful scenic drive (or bike ride). Follow highway 19 north of Hilo. Between mile marker 7 and 8 take the right hand turn that is marked "scenic Drive". Combine with a visit to the Botanical Garden.

By far one of my favorite hikes. It's not for the weak. So please don't attempt this one of you're having knee troubles.
