This is the leisure area in Amsterdam where Amsterdammers relax in the weekend. You can take long walks, do a bycicle tour, swim (for small children there is a large separated area), do horseback riding, rent a rowing boat. There is even an open air stage that has a few times per week a play.
Amsterdamse Bos is actually four times the size of New York’s Central Park and contains a massive variety of terrains, sporting facilities and other amenities. The park is located in Amsterdam’s southernmost suburbs and is something of a hidden gem -mainly as most tourists tend to stay within the city center. Besides its beautiful forests and glistening lakes, Amsterdamse Bos also has a large goat farm that can be visited without charge. The farm lets its herds roam freely and most of its inhabitants are exceptionally friendly.
