Tips from locals
Of the two spanish castles, El Morro is the larger and more popular in general. The entrance alone, in front of a massive grass lawn, makes it worthy of a visit. Full of historical artifacts and great views of the bay and old city.
Must visit, take the tour and seat on the grass to take a look at the view. (tip: having a piragua on hand)
Viejo San Juan Bring a frozen water bottle for each person. Lots of walking. Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes.
Castillo San Felipe del Morro, also known as El Morro, is a citadel built between 16th and 18th centuries. It is an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
