Waseda Shochiku is one of Japan’s now few so-called “famous cinema houses.” Based on the motto “great movies at a low price,” it shows double features every day that include mixes of carefully-selected new and old movies, ranging from recent movies that are no longer being shown in theaters to black-and-white works.
