Tips from locals
A small museum where volunteers restore war planes. Get up close and personal with these planes. Interesting stories, ask a volunteer to escort you outside and tell you the stories.
The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum was founded in 1972 and is a non-profit organization whose mandate is to acquire, document, preserve and maintain a complete collection of aircraft that were flown by Canadians and the Canadian military from the beginning of World War II to the present.
The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum is a Canadian aviation museum located at the John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport in Hamilton, Ontario. The museum has 36 military jets, propeller-driven aircraft and helicopters on display.
With over 40 military planes from the past and present, the sky's the limit at Canada's largest flying museum. Take a personalized tour, try a flight simulator or book your own flight in a vintage aircraft. Interactive events and exhibits help visitors grasp the experience of being a military pilot and the magnitude and sacrifice of military combat.
