Tips from locals
Former royal residence. Was built as a residence for Emperor Paul I by architects Vincenzo Brenna and Vasili Bazhenov in 1797-1801. The castle looks different from each side.
Located in a very nice and quite green area, beautiful Michailovsky garden is just across the Sadovaya str on the left handside. It is also on the way to Russian museum. Beautiful walk.
St. Michael's Castle (Russian: Миха́йловский за́мок, Mikhailovsky zamok), also called the Mikhailovsky Castle or the Engineers' Castle
