A beautiful double waterfall in the Thjorsá Valley The falls are named after the surrounding area of Hjalp, which means “help”. Travelers along the harsh Sprengisandur Route found this well-vegetated area to be one of great aid and recovery for their horses after a difficult crossing through the interior highlands.
