Located at 230 Derech Allenby, Haifa The focal point of Elijah the Prophet's activities has made this cave a holy site for pilgrims of the three main religions.
The Elijah Cave is a cave on the side of Mount Carmel in Haifa. Where, according to folk tradition, Elijah the prophet hid in his escape from the kings of Israel, during his wanderings on Mount Carmel. The Cave of Elijah is sacred to Jews, Christians, Muslims and Druze and is an accepted visitor site. Jews used to hang parcels on the southern wall, where there was a depression, similar to the location of the Holy Ark. It is customary to place notes in the walls of the cave. Outside the cave, we light candles and pray for the health of the sick, for couplings and for the fruit of the stomach, as is customary in holy places.
